“When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced. Live your life in such a manner that when you die, the world cries and you rejoice.“
How do you want to be remembered in life and in death? In my own opinion, I find that there are three kinds of people: those who live life, those who drive through life, and those who wait for life to happen. What kind of person are you then?
How do you measure how well you live? I often wonder about that so much so that I opted to find an answer for it. To find an answer on what I was meant to do. What I was born to do. I decided, therefore, to read the book, ‘Purpose Driven Life’, however, as much as I want to say that I had a clear view on what I should be doing, that was not the case. I was, however, given a bright, new perspective on how life should be lived and if possible, how life should be measured.
Let’s face it. This world can analyze and size you up and throw you on the scales. They can IQ you and run you through with details that are so rigorously that can make you think hard. They can do their best to rate
and place you on their charts and then back it up with scientific smarts and talks that could make your head spin.
But if there’s one thing we should all remember, there’s more to what a person is worth than what human eyes can see.
If a person were to ask me how life, how a person should be measured, I would have to say that the measure of a man is not how tall a person stand, how wealthy or intelligent a person is. How then could a man be measured in his life? No one can accurately measure a person’s worth but God.
God knows and understand for He looks inside to the bottom of a person’s heart and only in the heart can you find what defines the measure of a man.
Well, we can doubt our own worth and search for who we are and where we stand. But, God made us in His image and likeness, He looks at us with mercy and he sees us through his love everlasting and eternal. We have to constantly be reminded that we are his children and certainly, that should be enough, right? That alone, should be able to show and tell us that there’s much more to what we are worth than we can ever comprehend.
We can spend your life pursuing physical perfection but there’s so much more than what meets the eye.
For God looks through the surface and he defines our worth by what is on the inside as opposed to how people define us base on what lies in our facade.
Now, the next time you want to size up a person. I hope people would think twice about it. We are all different, we get that. What we do with our difference and our opinions is what should matter.
