The sounds of firecrackers and fireworks echoes through the night even hours before the appointed time. Families begin to gather in their homes. Grandmothers and mothers–who knew a thing or two about superstitions–wear polka-dotted dresses, shirts, or skirts. 13 round fruits neatly placed inside fruit baskets as decor in the dining table, along with the Medianoche. Speakers are turned to a higher volume than normal, videoke machines rented out everywhere as people sang their hearts out–whether they were drunk or sober. And then before you know it, there’s only a minute left. The firecrackers are going full force now as (read more…)

The Baguio Adventure
I always did like going to new places. I don’t usually end up going anywhere that far, though. The farthest place we’ve been to (and by ‘we’, I mean my family and I) was Romblon and that was a long, long time ago. When my Aunt, Uncle and cousins came over for Christmas, we knew that after Pueblo they would be going to Baguio. I didn’t know, or would have guessed, that me and my sister, Mara would end up going with them too. I don’t know much about Baguio except for little facts like: the weather there is cold, (read more…)

For as long as I could remember, most of our Christmas celebration had been redundant. We would usually attend the midnight mass, eat Nochebuena (the Christmas Eve dinner), open presents and just go to sleep after that. If you have been following me, you would know how Rick Riordan is my favorite author and his Percy Jackson series is my favorite book. You would also know how I did not like the movie and the game that came out with it. So, you should not be surprised to note that I have pre-ordered a copy of Sir Rick Riordan’s newest work, the sequel to the PJatO series: Heroes of Olympus: The Lost Hero a couple of days ago (when my dad finally agreed to lend me his credit card. XD). I know that it still a couple (read more…)

When we went to Manila just before Christmas to visit my cousin who had visited the Philippines, we went to Festival Mall — a mall we frequently visit whenever we’re in that part of the country. My parent and my aunts and uncle all went to a different mall though which left my siblings and me with our cousins. My oldest cousin asked us if we wanted to go shop on our own. At that time, I had been planning on buying an Iphone 3GS so, we (my sisters and I) figured we might as well take a look around (read more…)

Finally, after a week of no update, Detective Conan finally closes off it’s Kappa case with an ‘okay’ ending. Chapter 721, entitled, The Kappa’s True Form, had just been released translated in english by our friends from DCTP scans.

If there is one thing I fear in this coming election, it’s the fear that our votes would not count and we will see another pathetic episode of foul play.
