Day 5 : M79

I have no idea. No idea at all as to why I chose this song for this day other than the fact that it has an interesting melody (and because I am extremely giddy since we’re going to watch a movie this afternoon).

I don’t even know what the song’s about but I am glad that it doesn’t make use of cuss words and the shouting and the growling, and the other things that makes a song sound loud, obnoxious, and completely irrelevant (to my opinion at least).

M79–today’s song–is sung by Vampire Weekend and, apart from a quirky tune (not the bad kind of quirkiness, mind you), it also has a “funny” (not the ha-ha funny but an amusing sort of funny if you know what I mean) lyrics.

Before you ask, let me tell you. I did not choose this song because of what the name of the group who sang it. Granted I enjoy reading vampire novels (Vampire Academy, Twilight Saga, Thirst, Blue Bloods, Vampire Kisses–to name a few) but that doesn’t necessarily mean that I like every single thing that has the word ‘vampire’ in it. I’m no goth (no offense to goths everywhere).

I first heard of Vampire Weekend when I was playing Guitar Hero, Rockband, and Band Hero and then heard more of their songs from TTR (Tap Tap Revolution) where their songs can be bought, downloaded and played. I only have one album of them though so I can’t say that I’m a fan.

Anyways, below’s the lyrics to the song.  You can probably buy the album at a music store near you (once again, I have to stress how hard it is to buy things like that here–and I am not talking about the pirated CDs either.  I’m talking about the originals).   Or you can check out iTunes since I’m pretty sure you can buy their songs from there as well, and TTR.

It’s going to take a little time
While you’re waiting like a factory line
I’ll ride across the park
Backseat on the 79
Wasted days you’ve come to pass

So go, I know you would not stay
It wasn’t true, but anyway
Pollination yellow cab

You walk up the stairs
See the French kids by the door
Up one more flight
See the Buddha on the second floor
Coronation rickshaw grab

So go, I know you would not stay
It wasn’t true, but anyway
Racist dreams you should not have

No excuse to be so callous
Dress yourself in bleeding madras
Charm your way across the Khyber pass

Stay awake to break the habit
Sing in praise of Jackson Crowther
Watch yourself along the arch of glass

There is nothing more that I enjoy doing than reading books and writing. I'm kind of a nerd like that, XD. I have been writing for 7 years and am the author of the YA novel "Winged: The Awakening" and "Winged: The Unraveling". Also, a YouTuber dealing with video games and gaming.
