Day 26: Half-Way There

When you have a dream, when you want to accomplish something big, chances are, it won’t be easy.  You will have to go through a rollercoaster of heartaches, heartbreaks, blood, sweat, and tears, as well as the constant disappointment before you will be able to taste that oh-so-sweet victory.

There would be times when you will be tempted to give up.  When you will wonder why you are torturing yourself that way.  When you will forget why you started the journey in the first place.  But you must always remember: never forget why you’re here; never forget why you are working so hard.

It’s not for the sake of anyone else but for the sake of your own dream.  To live the life you were destined to live–the life that you choose to live.  No one should (and could) take that from you, and you shouldn’t allow people to tell you otherwise.

Most people give up when the going gets tough.  They think that it’s not worth it.  But it is.  It is worth it.

Today’s song is a song from BTR (Big Time Rush) entitled “Half-Way There“.  It’s upbeat and the lyrics are great.  The lyrics speaks to you.

There’s one thing people tend to forget when they’re on a journey to fulfill their lifelong desires.  They forget that they’re NOT alone.  That there are people willing to help and support them more than there are those who would want to criticize them.  They forget that you can’t reach your dreams if you are pessimistic, if you always think of the glass as half-empty rather than half-full.  Okay…so maybe there are two things people forget that they shouldn’t (forget, I mean). XD

Let me tell you a secret.  You know what you should do when the going gets though?  Well, then, get tougher.  Be steadfast.  Be like the bamboo–strong but flexible.

…And, on your journey to reach your dreams, to reach your destination, it’s okay to have fun.  It’s okay to sometimes be rejected.  What is NOT okay is for you to give up.  Giving up and not trying are the ultimate failures.

If you got an F (grade), it’s not so much as a big deal if you know you’ve tried.  Getting an F isn’t the end of the world, or the end of the road.  But if you let that F stay an F then, that’s a total failure because you didn’t try to change it.  Because you just accepted it and let it be.  Because you just gave up on it.  And that’s a big no-no.

Below are the lyrics to this song.  Until the next post, dream on; fly on!

When the chips are down, back against the wall
Got no more to give ’cause we gave it all
Seems like going a distance is unrealistic
But we’re too far from the start

So we take what comes and we keep on going
Leaning on each other’s shoulders
Then we turn around and see we’ve come so far somehow

We’re halfway there, we’re looking good now
Nothing’s gonna get in the way
We’re halfway there and looking back now
I’d never thought that I’d ever say
We’re halfway there, we’re halfway there

If you never flew, we would never fall
If the world was ours, we would have it all
But the life we live isn’t so simplistic
You just don’t get what you want

So we take what comes and we keep on going
Leaning on each other’s shoulders
Then we turn around and see we’ve come so far somehow

We’re halfway there, we’re looking good now
Nothing’s gonna get in the way
We’re halfway there and looking back now
I’d never thought that I’d ever say
We’re halfway there, we’re halfway there

How you ever gonna reach the stars
If you never get off the ground?
And you’re always here where you are
If you let life knock you down

We’re halfway there, we’re looking good now
Nothing’s gonna get in the way
We’re halfway there and looking back now
I’d never thought that I’d ever say
We’re halfway there, we’re halfway there
(Oh, we’re halfway there, halfway there )

Oh, we’re halfway there, halfway there
Oh, we’re halfway there, halfway there

There is nothing more that I enjoy doing than reading books and writing. I'm kind of a nerd like that, XD. I have been writing for 7 years and am the author of the YA novel "Winged: The Awakening" and "Winged: The Unraveling". Also, a YouTuber dealing with video games and gaming.
