Day 58: Uprising

You know how what one listens to usually converts to how one is feeling at the moment?  Well, I suppose that would explain why I chose this particular song (apart from the fact that you gotta love how James Durbin, from American Idol Season 10, did this song) for our fifty-eight day of music.

You might be wondering what I am feeling right now.  Apart from the elation that the proof copy of my book is on its way (Hurray!), I am annoyed because of my damn braces and also because of the antipathy of some people who are trying to be all-self-righteous but just end up being hypocrites.

Meh!  This post really isn’t all about those people.  This is about music, and so, let us move away from that.

Uprising” was originally sung by Muse from their album “The Resistance” and last week it was covered by James Durbin who sang it in a higher note than the original and–although I am a McLaina (Scotty and Lauren) fan–I really thought that James blew the competition away.  He was that good.

The video below is of James performing the very same song (click here to view Muse’s version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8KQmps-Sog).  Tell me what you guys think?  He (James) is good, right?  Gotta love his theatrics.

The first time I heard this song wasn’t on my iPod, though.  I first heard it while I was rockin’ it out on Guitar Hero (me on drums, usually and Abby on Guitar).  I really love this song in the game since it wasn’t boring to play.

I believe this song was meant to be a song of revolution and a song of revolution it is.  I mean, come on, just look at the lyrics and the tone of the song.  I’m not a fan of rock or anything of the sort but I do love this song (especially at this very moment, XD).

This song can be talking about politics, society, and even…dare I say it?  Nah, I’d rather not but you can fill out the blank as to what the last part should be (it shouldn’t be that hard).  And, in our world today, it fits our world perfectly and what our mentally should be on these things.

I like the chorus of the song the most: They will not force us; They will stop degrading us; They will not control us; We will be victorious. And all I can say about that part of the song is: “Heck, yeah!”

Anyways, below are the lyrics to this song.  Until the next post, dream on; fly on!

Paranoia is in bloom,
The PR, transmissions will resume
They’ll try to, push drugs that keep us all dumbed down
And hope that, we will never see the truth around
(So come on)

Another promise, another seed
Another, packaged lie to keep us trapped in greed
And all the, green belts wrapped around our minds
And endless, red tape to keep the truth confined
(So come on)

They will not force us
They will stop degrading us
They will not control us
We will be victorious
So come on

Interchanging mind control
Come let the, revolution takes its toll
If you could, flick the switch and open your third eye
You’d see that, we should never be afraid to die
(So come on)

Rise up and take the power back
It’s time the, fat cats had a heart attack
They know that, their time’s coming to an end
We have to, unify and watch our flag ascend
(So come on)

They will not force us
They will stop degrading us
They will not control us
We will be victorious
So come on

Hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey

They will not force us
They will stop degrading us
They will not control us
We will be victorious
So come on

There is nothing more that I enjoy doing than reading books and writing. I'm kind of a nerd like that, XD. I have been writing for 7 years and am the author of the YA novel "Winged: The Awakening" and "Winged: The Unraveling". Also, a YouTuber dealing with video games and gaming.
