Day 60: Last Goodbye

Back during the Archuleta-Cook face-off, I made sure to vote my hands off for David Cook to win American Idol (yeah, because back then I can do something like that even though I *should* not be able to vote).  During the finale, I was so freaked out by the judge’s comments (Simon, in particular) that I took the whole morning after the performance to vote like hell for DC (David Cook) thinking that he would have fewer votes than normal.  So, you can imagine how happy I was (much like how happy every other Cook fan) when Ryan Seacrest said that DC won by a landslide.  A landslide!

During DC’s journey on Idol, I have managed to get a hold of all of his studio recordings–pre-idol and on-idol.  I have all of his songs including songs from the elusive album, Analog Heart.  However, for today, I am not going to pick a DC song from that album but pick a DC song from his upcoming album.  This song that I have chosen for our sixtieth day of music is Last Goodbye.

I feel that it’s kind of appropriate (emphasize on the word ‘kind of’) considering that we will know, shortly, who gets voted off from the idol stage and who the Top 5 contestants are going to be.  I do hope that Lauren, Scotty, and James do not get voted off because (seriously) they are the only contestants that are actually interesting.  Casey *used* to be interesting but he kinda got old.  Haley?  Oh, don’t get me started on her.  I swear I would’ve punched her in the face (if I could’ve) when Pia got voted off and she was smiling and laughing while all the other contestants (and the rest of the idol viewers, including the judges) were shocked.  Jacob…well, he’s not really interesting.

Anyways, this doesn’t really sound like a bye-bye song for idol.  The thought of who gets voted off and this song just happened to cross my mind when I saw the title of the song.   This is actually a song of lost love.

The line that gets me thought is one line from the second verse.  It goes: Cause we were everything right at the wrong time.  I really don’t know why but that line always gets me.

That’s all for now.

Below are the lyrics to this song (which you can download on iTunes).  Until the next post, dream on; fly on!

If you hear this on the radio
Then we’ve already said our last goodbye
I won’t be there when you get home
By now there’s someone else that hears you cry
I wonder if he holds you like I did
I hope that he can love you better
Cause we were everything that’s right at the wrong time

I didn’t want to lose you
Leave you with a broken heart
But wherever we are, we’re miles apart
I know that we tried, but this is the last goodbye
Oh, I didn’t want to let you go
But wherever we are, we’re miles apart
I know that we tried, but this is the last goodbye

We were almost beautiful
A broken piece of art put on display
But we were never possible
Another perfect moment thrown away
I know somebody out there will love you
They’ll be the forever we never were
Cause we were everything that’s right at the wrong time

I didn’t want to lose you
Leave you with a broken heart
But wherever we are, we’re miles apart
I know that we tried, but this is the last goodbye
Oh, I didn’t want to let you go
But wherever we are, we’re miles apart
I know that we tried, but this is the last goodbye

There is nothing more that I enjoy doing than reading books and writing. I'm kind of a nerd like that, XD. I have been writing for 7 years and am the author of the YA novel "Winged: The Awakening" and "Winged: The Unraveling". Also, a YouTuber dealing with video games and gaming.
