Day 91: Generation

I wish I could just repost my Uprising post since, seriously, that is the song that has been playing on my mind for a week now…and it’s the song that really makes an impact, you know…well, at least, right now.

But…for our ninety-first day (eight days left for the challenge), I decided to go to something that has the same feel as James Durbin’s song.  They are the only band (apart for 30-seconds to Mars, which I now have under my very, very short list of Favorite Bands) that I actually like and bother listening to.  I even joined a contest just to win one of their albums (which I won, by the way…so don’t tell me that my writing and/or my english sucks).

Anyways, this song is entitled Generation.  And I think this pretty sums up the battle between the old and the new–our predecessors and our generation.  Some people seem to forget that there is a gap between generations.  Our way of thinking are different–some of it good, some not-so-good.  But, the thing is, the world is changing and sometimes we have to adapt to some of the changes (those that aren’t bad but are there to help us grow, make us more productive).  Some people don’t accept that and instead choose to be flamers.

Anyways, I love this song.  It’s right there with Uprising.  The thing that draws me to this song is that this song (like Uprising) stands for something–Individuality and Acceptance.  Two things that some people lack…they can’t seem to accept individuality.  They see it as a threat.  They see us as a threat because they don’t–can’t–understand us.  People like that won’t be able to see the beauty of the world much.

The thing is, we shouldn’t let them confine us.  We should do what we do best–be ourselves.  If they don’t like us, well…who cares about their opinion?  They’re not our masters.  I don’t know about you guys but I only answer to my parents and to God.

Anyways, below are the lyrics to this song.  Until the next post, dream on; fly on!

(Listen)
(Ohh, ohh)
(Ohh, ohh)

I’m sick of all this waiting
And people telling me what I should be
What if I’m not so crazy
Maybe you’re the one that’s wrong, not me
So what you gonna do, what you gonna say
When we’re standing on top and do it our way
You say we got no future
You’re living in the past
So listen up, that’s my generation

(hey ho, let’s go!)

It’s going down tonight
(hey ho, let’s go!)
We’re gonna do it til we die
(hey ho, let’s go!)
‘Cause I, I, I got no reason to apologize
That’s my generation

(ohh, ohh)
(ohh, ohh)

I don’t need to say I’m sorry
I do what everybody wants to do
It’s not so complicated
‘Cause I know you want the same thing, too
So what you gonna do, what you gonna say
When we’re standing on top and do it our way
You say we got no future
You’re living in the past
So listen up, that’s my generation

(hey ho, let’s go!)
It’s going down tonight
(hey ho, let’s go!)
We’re gonna do it til we die
(hey ho, let’s go!)
‘Cause I, I, I got no reason to apologize
That’s my generation

(Listen)

Don’t need to say I’m sorry
(ohh, ohh)
It’s not so complicated
‘Cause I know you want the same thing, too

(hey ho, let’s go!)
It’s going down tonight
(hey ho, let’s go!)
We’re gonna do it til we die
(hey ho, let’s go!)
‘Cause I, I, I got no reason to apologize
That’s my generation

(hey ho, let’s go!)
It’s going down tonight
(hey ho, let’s go!)
We’re gonna do it til we die
(hey ho, let’s go!)
‘Cause I, I, I got no reason to apologize
That’s my generation

There is nothing more that I enjoy doing than reading books and writing. I'm kind of a nerd like that, XD. I have been writing for 7 years and am the author of the YA novel "Winged: The Awakening" and "Winged: The Unraveling". Also, a YouTuber dealing with video games and gaming.
