Day 92: Sometimes You Leave

I just realized something.  This song goes well with Staying’s Worse Than Leaving. Seriously.  It’s like this song attests to that.

Anyways, welcome to the ninety-second day of our almost-finished hundred day music challenge.  As pointed by Richie Mohanty, there is a more diverse genre of music out there.  However, it’s not just the genre I’m after.  These hundred-days of music thing also is about the music that sort of has an impact on my day–or an impact of my day from yesterday.  So, you can sort of say that this is a theme song for the day for me.  So, yeah…

Today’s song is another country music from Carrie Underwood.  It’s from her Carnival Ride album, and is entitled: Sometimes You Leave.

You know, some people think that if you leave that it’s a testament of you giving up.  I don’t think that that is always true.  People who think that way are stupid.  Why?  Because they don’t bother to ask why a person would leave.  They only see the leaving and not the reason.  Like I’ve said: stupid.  They judge those who leave as quitters without bothering to know what caused the person to leave.  Heck, some people don’t even know that the reason that person may have left is them (the person who likes to label people).

A quote enters my mind.  Sometimes you have to close the book and move on when turning the page won’t do.

Leaving can sometimes be a courageous move, too.  Besides, why would you stay if you’re being harassed?  Why would you let yourself be bullied?  Why would you let people take what is important to you?  Staying in the face of all that…that’s not courage; that’s not what it means to be brave.  That’s you just being a masochist.  That’s a dumbass move.

To stand up and leave.  To show them that they don’t control your life and that they are just a single entity that doesn’t matter.  I think of that as a courageous move.  Your life is your own and you can live it however you want because in living the way you want, in being who you want to be and who you are, you are creating your own “identity”.  You may end up making mistakes but who cares?  At least you made them and you experienced them and you grow from them.

We’re not mindless creatures doing someone else’s bidding just because they told us to…and we’re not a bunch of zombies that don’t feel pain.  One may apologize but one can never erase the feeling that you caused to others.  We may forget the words but the feeling remains…and I believe that there would come a time when Karma would take its course and those that hurt us and make us feel small, those who belittle us and mock us, they would get what’s coming to them.

It’s as they say: Karma is a bitch only if you are.

So, if you don’t see yourself growing where you are.  If you don’t see the point in staying.  Then leave.  No one can blame you for it.  Expand your horizons and see that there is more to life than just wasting away being someplace you don’t want and doing something you find no joy in.  Live the life you want because it is your life to live.

Below are the lyrics to this song.  Until the next post, dream on; fly on!

All the raindrops in the sky tonight
Can’t compare with all the pain and all the tears I’ve cried
But now I’m done
All the make-believe locked in this picture frame
Is gonna stay behind along with all the burning rage
that’s been tearing through my heart
Killing me slowly
Every beat I was falling apart

Sometimes you give
Sometimes they take
Sometimes you bend
And sometimes they break you down
Sometimes you stick around trying to change them,
make them someone that they’ll never be
And sometimes you leave

All this time I’ve spent staring at the door
I never had the strength to pack my bags and leave before
But now I’m done
Lying to myself when it’s clear that you’re not the one

Sometimes you give
Sometimes they take
Sometimes you bend
And sometimes they break you down
Sometimes you stick around trying to change them,
make them someone that they’ll never be
And sometimes you leave

When there’s nothing left for me to leave behind
And you’re already too far gone to say goodbye

Sometimes you give
Sometimes they take
Sometimes you bend
And sometimes they break you down
Sometimes you stick around trying to change them,
make them someone that they’ll never be
And sometimes you leave
Sometimes you leave

There is nothing more that I enjoy doing than reading books and writing. I'm kind of a nerd like that, XD. I have been writing for 7 years and am the author of the YA novel "Winged: The Awakening" and "Winged: The Unraveling". Also, a YouTuber dealing with video games and gaming.
