Day 100: Happy Ending

Finally, after a hundred days, it all comes down to this: the final song, the final post for our hundred days of music challenge.  I’m really happy that I was able to pull through with the challenge.  It took quite a lot to be consistent with it and to share all this amazing songs with you all.  Some of them are hidden gems, while others are pretty popular–well, popular if you are familiar with the genre.

Granted, most of the songs I’ve shared and written about our country music but, you cannot say that they weren’t great–if not, good–choices.  For our hundredth day, I decided to go on ahead and post one of the most inspiring country songs that I have heard so far.  I find that this is a fitting song to close off this challenge and the message of the song is just so great, so compelling that I wanted to share the song with you all.  I’m pretty sure that there aren’t that many country fans here in the Philippines.

This song is also special for me because it’s the song that helps me get through when I’m in a slump.  It gives me this feeling that, no matter how effing hard things are right now, and how much people would bully and harass me for being me and for inspiring to be greater than where I am now, I’ll be sure to find that “happy ending”.  It doesn’t matter how many obstacles are in the way, or if those people who disses on me thinks way to highly of themselves–thinks that they are important–what matters is that God has a plan for me that is greater than whatever their plan may be.  Heck, I’m willing to bet on God, after all, he knows what’s best and I’m sure he’s gonna make things right in the end.

That’s what the title of our hundredth song is: Happy Ending.  And it is sung by Sugarland.

This song speaks to believers and non-believers, dreamer chasers and dream killers–you can always bet that a person’s dream is powerful.  Dreamers cannot be tamed, their dreams cannot be stolen from them.  History is the proof of that.  Where would we be if dreamers didn’t work hard to make their dreams come true?  There won’t be any electricity; there won’t be phones–mobile or otherwise; there won’t be television and television shows, movies, books, computer games; there won’t be an internet; there won’t be planes and boats, and ships, and cars; there won’t be heroes and patriots; there won’t be music.  A lot of things won’t exists without dreamers, without revolutionaries, without daredevils.

I am one of them.  I am a dreamer.  I am a revolutionary.  I am a daredevil.  I am one of those people who want to change the world.  Are you one of us?

Below are the lyrics to this wonderful, awesome, incredible, awe-inspiring song.  Until the next post, dream on; fly on!

Cowboys ride into sunsets
The good guy always gets the girl
Cinderella has just fit
A glass slipper that changed her world

We all know the stories
We all know the fairy tales
We all get the glory of making it for ourselves

From the beginning
We’re all looking for a happy ending
Every dream of winning
Every love we’ve been in
Right from the beginning
We’re looking for a happy ending

We’ve come here with nothing
And take it with us the day we leave
The first and last breath don’t matter
It’s all the ones that are in-between
It’s the reason for living
It’s the reason the caged bird sings
It’s why we sit in the movies
All the way to the closing scenes

From the beginning
We’re all looking for a happy ending
Every dream of winning
Every love we’ve been in
Right from the beginning
We’re looking for a happy ending

And all those dreamers who have come and gone
Who’ve reached for the stars, who’ve overcome
You’re the hope, you’re the wish, you’re the truth
Baby, here’s the proof

Baby’s born in this ghetto
Baby’s born with a silver spoon
One tells his Mama I have a dream
One tells his Mama I’ll walk the moon

From the beginning
We’re all looking for a happy ending
Every dream of winning
Every love we’ve been in
Right from the beginning
We’re looking for

From the beginning
We’re all looking for a happy ending
Every dream of winning
Every love we’ve been in
Right from the beginning
We’re looking for a happy ending

So its THE END. Apart from all the country songs, i liked the whole lot. Wait, 86% of the articles were country !!!!! JK, loved the whole lot(100% of it) simply because i got a chance to add some more quality to my modest library. Arigatou (^_^)

P.S. We really do need a smiley bar for comments.
