If you like to play video games and are a fan of the survival horror genre, then you would be familiar with the successful franchise from Capcom which is the Resident Evil series. With the massive fan base, the Resident Evil series is one of Capcom’s finest work and one that they love to milk money from. From games to the movies to books, the Resident Evil series has garnered equal parts love and hate from the masses.
With the upcoming RE game for the 3DS and other major consoles, as well as the another installment in the movie, it is only fitting that loyal (and maybe not-so-loyal) fans of the series would cause some stir. There is one in particular that I would like to show you guys. It’s a fan video which, in my opinion, was well-made. Although, there are a couple of inconsistencies. But, if you look beyond that, you would definitely enjoy watching this.
It’s called Resident Evil: First Hour which you can watch on YouTube.
Check out this here trailer:
As of this writing, there are two episodes to this webseries. Resident Evil: First Hour is a re-imagined prequel to Resident Evil 2, and follows Leon Kennedy as he and two other police officers find themselves trapped on a farm outside Raccoon City, fighting for their lives against an undead horde. Directed by April Choi and Ross Peacock with the story written by April Choi as well, this webseries could, probably, keep fans at bay while waiting for the release of the two RE games.
The webseries is produced by Cosmic Mutt Pictures with the following cast of characters: James Whitwell as Leon Kennedy, Jeff Mash as Sgt. Richard Cameron, and Kevin Milington as Dep. Philip Jackson.
I will be updating this post with every new episode that comes out so be sure to check back often, or you could simply subscribe to the Director’s Channel.
Episode 1 : Fresh from the academy, Leon Kennedy turns up in Raccoon City only to make his first mistake and turn up at the wrong station. Unperturbed he makes a routine call to a farm outside Raccoon with his fellow officers, only to find something more horrific than he could ever imagine…
Episode 2 : Have the cannibal murders returned to Raccoon City? That may be the case for Leon Kennedy, Richard and Philip as they find themselves trapped alone and at the mercy of a flesh hungry undead horde.
Episode 3: Leon and Richard try to work out what is going on at the farm, as Philip’s condition slowly worsens (having been bitten by a zombie). Soon however it becomes clear that the zombie’s bite carries something far worse than they realise…
Episode 4: Following the death of Philip, Leon and an injured Richard decide to make a break for it and escape the farm. Finally deciding that the undead are simply monsters they go out, guns ready, to seek their fate in the final chapter of Resident Evil: First Hour.
