This is sort of a “companion post” to my Rules of A Lady post. So, what is a “Gentleman”. A gentleman, by definition, is a man of good family, breeding, or social position. He is a civilized, educated, sensitive and well-mannered man. And, let’s face it, nowadays, those are pretty rare. I mean, how many men out there are actually willing to give their seat to a lady–young or old–without expecting anything in return? How many men out there are willing to hold a door open for a woman, regardless of age or whether she is beautiful and sexy or (read more…)

The “Rules” Of A Lady
A lady, by definition, is a woman who is refined, polite and well-spoken. You may argue with me on this one but, let’s face it, there’s a steep decline on lady-like behavior among women today. Well, I came across some rules that we girls could follow. You may agree with some or even all of these or you may not. No one’s forcing you either way. Note that I also did not make these rules. Need I reiterate that I found them. Hence, don’t flame me for them. Just thought I could share them. I will also be updating these with new rules (read more…)

I suppose we can all agree that, when questioned what we want to be or have in the future, the answer revolves around the common things: rich/money, fame, and success. But, what exactly is our definition of success? What makes a person “successful”? We all have our own answers to that question. It may be that you view success as having more money than your neighbor, living and feeling like you’re at the top of the world. It may be that your definition of success is being able to attain that dream you have sought for for all your life. (read more…)

As we’ve posted earlier, members of the European Union sign ACTA into something of an existence–it still requires ratification from the European Union parliament–various EU citizens have decided to fight back against ACTA. Unfortunately, while these protests are getting noticed, the ruling governments signed the treaty anyway. While ACTA may not be as popular as the SOPA/PIPA bills were, it could impact the internet in ways its American counterparts could not, which helps explain the international outcry against the treaty. If you haven’t read it, perhaps you should. Are you ready for another fight to protect the open nature of (read more…)

So, after that whole fiasco with FFN not accepting my document uploads, it seems that they fixed that…without telling me. If I had known that they had already fixed it before the weekend ended, I would have uploaded and updated the fanfic sooner. But, yeah…they didn’t. Anyways, I’m just happy that the problem was fixed. Though I am none the wiser as to what caused the problem: if it was from their end or it was because of the internet connection I had. Oh well… I’m still working on updating CoT III: Another Future. For now, enjoy these two chapters (read more…)

Marian had her sights set on becoming a concert singer, a challenge that was doubly difficult because of the color of her skin. Her mother, however, had a patient trust in God. Marian later said, ‘Mother’s religion made her believe that she would receive what was right for her to have if she was conscientious in her faith. If it did not come, it was because He had not considered it right for her. We grew in this atmosphere of faith that she created…We believed as she did because we wanted the same kind of haven in the (read more…)

To start this post off, let me ask just one question: Seriously, what is up with these acronyms? If you’ve heard about SOPA and PIPA (which, I am sure you have, after all, it was all over the news during the blackout last January 18), then you have probably heard about ACTA–Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement. If not, then let me give a little background on this. ACTA is sort of a big brother to SOPA and PIPA. It is an international treaty that threatens free speech and your privacy online. Imagine if your ISP could censor their networks, police what you did (read more…)
