Day 12: Start Over

You know what’s lacking in popular radio stations right now?  Positive music!  And, that is the reason why my choices are currently veering into the direction of trying to find music that are uplifting and positive.  Music is a universal language and what better way to spread kindness, hope, compassion, and all the positive and good things in this world?

I’m never a fan of Monday…unless Monday happens to land on a holiday then, by all means, bring it on, Monday!  Otherwise, I’m more like ‘meh’.  I know I’m not the only one who feels that way.  The number of people who feel that way could probably make their own club and it will be filled with a multitude of people.

Anyways, that’s beside the point.  The point is, I pick this song not only because of the message that it wishes to convey but also because of its upbeat nature that will hopefully drive that Monday Blues away.

This song by The Afters is from their album Light Up The Sky and is entitled, Start Over.

You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to know what the message of this song is.  The lyrics is truly inspiring and it makes you want to just shake all that apprehension and fear away and do something that you wanted to do for a long time now but are afraid of failing.

Fear.  That’s what this song is trying to break us from.  This song tells us that there is no need to be afraid.  That our dreams, our aspirations, are not impossible to achieve but that our fear is what makes seem the possible, impossible.  It tells us not to be afraid because, even if we fail, we can still come back up and start over again and again until we achieve that which we sought to achieve.

The scripture tells us not to be afraid.  We should constantly keep that in mind.  We are never alone, even when it seems we are.  No dream is impossible to conquer as long as you do your best, work hard, and you firmly believe in yourself and that God will see you through.  After all, with God by us, who can stand against us?  All things are possible through Christ who strengthens me.

Below are the lyrics to this song.  Dream on; Fly on!

The impossible is possible
But your fear is so responsible
For keeping you down
Keeping you down.

Your unreachable is reachable
But you’ll never grab
The wonderful
with your feet on the ground
Your feet on the ground

If you fall on your face
Don’t just leave it to fate
No such thing as too late
It’s not too late

To start over, start over, start over
Start over, start over, start over
You never have what you want to lose
So pick it up, up, up
Dust off your shoes
Start over, start over, start over
Start over, start over, start over
You’ve gotta find, find, find the other side,
So give it one, one, one more try.
Start over

You only fail
If you never try
You’ll never live
Tryin’ not to die.
I’m telling you now, I’m telling you now.
Don’t ever stop,
Give all you’ve got
Don’t hesitate, to take a shot
It all comes around, it all comes around.

If you fall on your face
Don’t just leave it to fate
No such thing as too late
It’s not too late

To start over, start over, start over
Start over, start over, start over
You never have what you want to lose
So pick it up, up, up
Dust off your shoes
Start over, start over, start over
Start over, start over, start over
You’ve gotta find, find, find the other side,
So give it one, one, one more try.
Start over

There’s so much, so much left to gain
There’s so much, so much to lose
You’ll never know until know until you make a move.

If you fall on your face
Don’t just leave it to fate
No such thing as too late
It’s not too late

To start over, start over, start over
Start over, start over, start over
You never have what you want to lose
So pick it up, up, up
Dust off your shoes
Start over, start over, start over
Start over, start over, start over
You’ve gotta find, find, find the other side,
So give it one, one, one more try.
Start over

Start over, start over, start over
Start over, start over, start over
Start over

There is nothing more that I enjoy doing than reading books and writing. I'm kind of a nerd like that, XD. I have been writing for 7 years and am the author of the YA novel "Winged: The Awakening" and "Winged: The Unraveling". Also, a YouTuber dealing with video games and gaming.
