I know, I hadn’t been posting anything for the past few days even though I probably have a lot to post about. But, see…there’s a reason for that. A super-freaking-awesome reason that I will get to shortly.
First up, I have to say that I am really stoked that Jessica Sanchez snagged one of the Top 2 spots on American Idol. I know that, with a couple of days already passed, this isn’t really such a big news, but still, the excitement that came after she was announced (as, before that, I thought I was going to have a mini-heartattack what with Ryan toying with the results, making us all wait for a freaking hour before he got to them. I feel bad for the contestants having to live through that.) is still palpable among her fans. Of course, now that the finale is just a few days away, the excitement is once again turning into anticipation.
What would Jessica sing? Can she break the WGWG (White Guy With Guitar) curse? Will there finally be another female American Idol? Sure those questions seem small and insignificant compared to the questions regarding the state of the world but, with how things are going–with governments effing up quite a lot of things and most not caring about the environment or the people–I think we all deserve to steer a little bit away from the “Fails of Humanity”.
If you guys don’t know LOK is the sequel to the highly acclaimed Nickelodeon cartoon Avatar: The Last Airbender. As far as sequels go, LOK is right there at the top. It has all the elements that made A:TLA such an amazing show while also adding something new (Like Pro-Bending, for example). We get to see the old characters and get a glimpse of what happened several years after the end of the Hundred Year War. Sadly, Aang is no longer alive–hence the birth and the adventures of the new Avatar, Korra but we still get to see glimpses of the old characters (who had aged overtime) as flashbacks (for Aang, Toph, Sokka) and as their older versions (such as what they did with Katarra who, as it seems, is the only one from the original gang who is still alive).
If you haven’t watched this new series yet, you’re missing out on a lot of high-quality entertainment…Yes, I do understand that it’s a cartoon and, for some, cartoons are meant only for kids, but you have got to give this show a chance. The story is so good that you’d probably facepalm yourself for missing out on it.
And finally, the reason for not having had updates for the past couple of days.
Remember the book I told you guys about that I was writing? Yes, the one entitled ‘Winged: The Awakening‘? Well, that book is now published and is available on a number of online stores. I’m so stoked about it and trying to get bookstores to sell it (which includes National Bookstore here in the Philippines) has kept me from updating. The book (which is the first in the series) can also be ordered on brick and mortar stores like Barnes & Noble. You have to ask them about the book though and it might not be available yet, but you can try since it should be in their catalog when June hits.
If you want to learn more about the book (like where you can buy it and such), you can head on to the Winged Books section of SnK. I’ve also set up a Facebook page for it which offers trailers and sample chapters, as well as news, regarding the series.
I hope you guys will support me and my book. It has always been my dream to be able to have my book published.
Anyways, hopefully, I can get back on track and update this blog as much as I did before. Granted, there are still some things I have to do with regards to my book, but I can’t very well leave this blog alone, can I?
Until the next post, dream on; fly on!
