I am a writer. I think I’ve established that well and good a couple of number of times. Add to the fact that I have published TWO actual novels (a new one would be coming out soon to boot!), not counting the number of online stories, essays, and the likes that I have written. So yeah. I can confidently boast about my writing prowess.
I am also someone who is quite used to matching her writing style to the story she wishes to be told. I can effectively tell a story in the viewpoint of the heroes themselves (or the characters telling the story), or through the eyes of onlookers or how history would tell it.
I am not used to the writing style I have decided to take up while writing my first story on Wattpad, however…
Yes. Wattpad. That site that I have told my sisters over and over again that I would not be joining. I finally gave in and did as they asked, signing up as an author willing to share her story there. And what story did I decide to share there? A short companion piece of a story for my videogame project, Chronicles of Endlessia.
Below is the excerpt I had used on Wattpad:
Set prior to the events of Chronicles of Endlessia. War has broken out. Darkness now covers the entire world. Hope is but a fleeting dream. Even so, there are those who stood against the tide of chaos that insist on swallowing the world whole, believing in the words of an omnipotent artifact. Told in the varying perspectives of the heroes who dared to fight against a god. A look at what was and how things came to be... A companion piece to the upcoming videogame "Chronicles of Endlessia".
It was a bit of a challenge writing the first chapter of this story (which has just been published; made available to the public), as I tried to keep an air of anonymity needed to keep certain things known for the moment before the videogame’s release.
It was also a challenge because this is the first time I had to write in this particular way.
Anyways, if you guys are interested…do give it a read and tell me what you think by heading on over to this little nook of mine on Wattpad for this particular story. Constructive criticisms are always welcome as it encourages and helps me to become a much better wordsmith.
That’s all for now. Until the next update (hopefully about a new chapter for LOK: The Schism), dream on; fly on!
