Yep. You read the title right. Phoenix Wright is back with an all new adventure. The sixth Ace Attorney game, entitled: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Spirit of Justice for the Nintendo 3DS handheld system, released on the 9th of September state-side, is a whole different ballgame from the rest of its predecessors, taking place in two separate settings–one featuring Phoenix Wright and the other Apollo Justice.
Not only is the dual setting a new feature in an Ace Attorney game, the flow of gameplay is also different as seen in the first case tutorial scenario (which, in my opinion, is a whole lot longer than the previous titles). Not only is there a cross-examination, the presentation of evidence and counter-arguements, but there is also the “Divination Seance“.
The Divination Seance is a brand new gameplay mechanic only made available on Pheonix’ side of the story, considering the fact that he is at the Kingdom of Khura’in where mysticism is highly regarded. During the Divination Seance, Rayfa Padma Khura’in uses a “Pool of Souls” on the floor of the High Court of Khura’in to show what a victim saw and felt during their final moments and interprets these visions as “Insights”, a series of claims about the incident. Phoenix Wright’s job is to find contradictions between the Insights and what is actually shown in the visions, which can lead to corrections in the Insights or the visions.
As I am a fan of the series, I have added them to my YouTube Channel as part of my #LetsPlay series (as seen on the videos above). And so far, I am liking the game, regardless of how long each segment are now. So, if you are interested in viewing or if you are stuck, you can view my videos and use them as a guide/walkthrough. Otherwise, you can just enjoy the story Ace Attorney 6 provides.
