Another year has come and gone and a new one has dawned…
As we greeted 2017 with prayers, well-wishes, and a bang, I couldn’t help but reminisce about the year that has gone. It had been a fruitful one, filled with the unexpected–both the good and the not-so-much. It had been a year filled with blessings.
A lot of things happened. I got a new job–one that I enjoy which makes me a part of a cause that I grew up and am a supporter of. Although getting that job made me so frustrated (since my papers got lost somewhere along the very convoluted government processes), as did trying to get my benefits.
I also got to travel a lot; visit places I never had been before. I met new people and got to hear a fragment of their stories. I got to write my own stories as well.
And, although 2016 did bring with it its fair share of troubles, I think I grew as a person with them. At least, I hope I did. I got to learn new things as well, and was reminded of the things that I forgot.
Thinking back on the year that was, I know that I did not make it on my own strength alone as well. I had my friends and family to back me up. I had God and His grace to thank for getting one year older, one year wiser (hopefully), and getting to experience the things that I did.
2016 was a blessed year as a whole and I know, through God’s unending grace, that 2017 will be just as awesome.
