PSVita Update 1.66 Now Live!

PSVita Update 1.66 Now Live!

After the problems regarding the latest 1.65 update delivered by Sony for the VITA system which involved the adhoc not working, Sony has immediately released a fix for it in the form of Firmware 1.66. There isn’t much about this firmware that addressed other issues except for the adhoc problem and the features found in this update is the same as those from update 1.65 (refer to this post for more details). You can download this fix now (if you downloaded 1.65) or you can choose to wait for a bigger update from Sony for their newest system.  The choice (read more…)

VITA Firmware 1.65 Up Now

VITA Firmware 1.65 Up Now

The promised Firmware update for the PlayStation VITA system is now online.  Vita users should be happy about this, right?  After all, we did wait for a whole month (others more) for this update to come.  However, what Sony gave us–as an update–is somewhat of a letdown. Let me first give a list of what VITA users expected were going to be part of the update: PSClassic (PSOne) support PS2 Support Better web browser More Apps like Youtube and Skype Remote play with the PS3 system More PSP and MINIs Bug fixes Visibility on PS3 while playing on the Vita (read more…)

ATLUS Answers to Fans, Lowers SEN Prices!

ATLUS Answers to Fans, Lowers SEN Prices!

With the recent release of Sony’s most bad-ass handheld console, the Sony Entertainment Network (previously known as the PSN, PlayStation Network) had received an increase in digital sales.  That is, of course, to be expected as VITA does not support the UMD of which PSP games were first introduced in. However, even stellar games such as Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Unit 13, and HotShots Golf: World Invitational (just to name a few), the Vita is currently experiencing a drought in the RPG and JRPG department and VITA users (such as myself) are not happy about it.  So, we turn to one (read more…)

PlayStation “Near”

PlayStation “Near”

So I had my VITA for three weeks now and all I can say is that it is worth the money!  Seriously, I can do a lot of things with it, making it not only a gaming handheld console but also a portable entertainment system.  I already made  a review about the VITA so I won’t go into the details regarding the strengths of the VITA and it’s powerful hardware and stuff like that.  What I would like to focus on right now is one of the “services” offered in the VITA. This “service” is known as the PlayStation “Near”. (read more…)

Free MotorStorm RC for PS Vita Users

Free MotorStorm RC for PS Vita Users

Back in November, word spread about Evolution Studios working on a new title, MotorStorm RC, which would be released in the US as a downloadable game for both the Playstation 3 console and the Playstation Vita. Two weeks ago, it was released in the UK and it garnered a whole lotta love as those who had bought and tried out the game thought it was well worth it.  SCEA (Sony Computer Entertainment America) announced earlier today that the PS3 version of the aforementioned game would be available in the PS Store for $9.99 (if you’re a Playstation Plus subscriber, it (read more…)

Uncharted Golden Abyss: A Review

Uncharted Golden Abyss: A Review

One of the many reasons why I opted to buy Sony’s latest handheld console is because of the Uncharted game that was released with it.  I am a big fan of the franchise, loving how Naughty Dog incorporates action, suspense, mystery, romance, adventure…and even at times thriller, into this flagship title of theirs. The thing about the Uncharted franchise that makes it amazing–and this is my personal opinion after playing Drake’s Fortune, Among Thieves, Deception, and Golden Abyss–is that, it mixes history, legends, and myths and makes something out of it.  Something that would pique your interest.  It gives you (read more…)
