I have always been a fan of a good animated film, and by “good” I don’t just mean well-animated with jaw-dropping visual effects. I lean more on the story, and the moral of it. Dreamworks have always been among my favorite when it comes to animated films. They are, after all, the only studio who gave a chance for biblical stories to be made into a movie like The Prince of Egypt and Joseph: King of Dreams–both of which are among the top of my favorite list. The song I chose for today is from the Joseph: King of Dreams animated (read more…)

Day 17: Fall Apart
It is so easy to blame every single bad thing that happens in our lives to God. After all, God is supposed to be omnipotent. He is supposed to be our father. He would not let anything bad happen to us, right? He would not let us–nor want us–to feel sad; to feel weak and helpless. The Holy Bible tells us a lot of stories about men and women empowered because they have faith in God. We want to feel that powerful as well. But then…why does bad things happen just when we try to become a better person? Why does (read more…)

In our world today, there are a lot of things that people are obsessed about. It doesn’t have to be an actual ‘thing’, though. Most people are obsessed with keeping their Facebook profiles so updated that you get to know what they are doing every, single, freaking second of their lives. Of course, statuses aren’t the only things that Facebook addicts are obsessed about. There are also those time management games that people can pour their lives and souls into, building imaginary farms, cities, worlds, or whatever you can possibly think of. There are also those who are obsessed with (read more…)

Success. All the roads that point to it are rough and are ridden with many obstacles. So many, in fact, that people often give up never knowing how close or how far they are from reaching their goal. There are so many self-help books now-a-days, all of them promising an easy way to gain something: whether it be fame, money, success, or even losing weight. They shove tips after tips down our throats of what we should do to speed up the process, promising that all of those things work. To some it may, to others…well, it might be a (read more…)

Hope. It’s a powerful thing. Hope makes you believe in the future even when everything seems to be falling apart. Hope makes you look at a brand new day with a renewed spirit. Hope keeps us from giving up on what matters most to us. Hope is a gift and it is freely given to all. Hope is always there, even in the blackest of nights. With how the world is going, it’s easy to say that without hope, I doubt any of us would get much further. Hope is what I got from listening to this track from Brandon (read more…)

I was never really a fan of rock. Sure I listen to rock songs occasionally but I only do so if–and when–the song actually has something to say; a message that is meant to inspire. The song we have today is from the Christian Rock genre. Sung by one of my current favorites, The Afters. ”We Won’t Give Up” actually feels sort of like a good theme song for me right now. It’s feisty and badass and it reminds me a bit of James Durbin (from the previous season (that’s Season 10) of American Idol). If I had heard this song, like, (read more…)

You know what’s lacking in popular radio stations right now? Positive music! And, that is the reason why my choices are currently veering into the direction of trying to find music that are uplifting and positive. Music is a universal language and what better way to spread kindness, hope, compassion, and all the positive and good things in this world? I’m never a fan of Monday…unless Monday happens to land on a holiday then, by all means, bring it on, Monday! Otherwise, I’m more like ‘meh’. I know I’m not the only one who feels that way. The number of (read more…)
